CRAZY WAY TO CHOOSE A PRESIDENT

I am now watching my 10th presidential election (at least the 10 I can remember).  And after watching politics over the years, I can honestly say the way we choose a president is absolutely crazy.  Of course, having some historical reference helps to say it is crazy, because it wasn't always on this wise.

It would be much better if the candidates issued their positions on the major issues of the day -- their positions are then published, the informed electorate then read those positions, and then we choose.  This beauty contest is getting more disgusting every quadrennial.  Newt Gingrich has some good ideas on this.  Gingrich has some good ideas, but I don't agree with him on everything.

Of course, we could research the candidates record -- but having 20 so-called debates are utterly worthless.  And can we just get rid of Frank Luntz -- what a worm.
